What is an Electronic Portfolio?

What is an electronic portfolio? Today, the documents are in digital form. The evidence is organized and presented with some type of "authoring" software, which I will discuss later. And finally, the work is stored in some kind of electronic container: either a CD-Recordable disc, a DVD-recordable disc (if we are presenting a lot of high quality video) or somewhere on the World Wide Web.
